General Choi Hong Hi 
Choi Hong Hi [9th November 1918 – 15th June 2002], also known as General Choi, was a South Korean Army general. General Choi is a famous fighter in the history of the Korean martial arts, also known as the founder of the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF), and listed in the Taekwondo Hall of Fame.
In 1930 Korea has been occupied by Japan. As a young man of 12 years, Choi has been dismissed from school due to conflicts against the occupier. As a result, Choi has been sent to study (private teacher) calligraphy by his father. In order to improve his education, Choi has been sent to Japan in 1938. He has been trained in Shotokan Karate and received the black belt (1. DAN) within 2 years.
